Entertainment Management was thrilled to present Harry Manx to a full house at the Kamloops Convention Centre Theatre. Manx is a truly unique performer and the best of Canada's acoustic blues musicians. We continue to receive excellent feedback on this concert.
This was one of the most fun evenings we have produced. The award winning Clearwater Secondary Jazz Band opened the evening and had people dancing on the first number. It is always a pleasure to listen to Company B Jazz Band and it was fantastic to hear them backed up by the smooth energy of the Kamloops Big Band. A great evening.
Entertainment Management is pleased to provide event management services to Association francophone de Kamloops as a repeat client. It's hard to imagine that the three members of Le Groupe Swing can generate more energy than most bands of any size. What a night! The dance floor was packed from start to end.
This was a nice relaxing and romantic celebration of Valentine's Day with Great Love Songs performed by Lynn Roste and Michelle Marginet. The singers were backed up by Mo Jazz. This event was fully sold out.

Juno Award nominated pianist Chris Donnelly performed jazz compositions and accompanied soprano Natalie Donnelly as she sang a mix of opera and show tunes. What a voice!
Chris and Natalie enjoyed the concert as much as the audience as you can see in the photo to the right. Chris couldn't stop smiling as Natalie leaned against him while singing an aria of love.

This was a well received intimate concert with the swinging hard bop sounds of the Cory Weeds Quintet. Feature trumpeter Jim Rotondi blew the audience away with his playing. This concert was part of the Everything's Coming Up Weeds CD release tour and the concert featured original music from the CD.
We had a super evening with Olga Osipova and her original material in the jazz and cabaret styles. She took the full house audience through a mix of swing, tango, bossa nova, march and other rhythms. She mixed the music with the stories behind the songs and her humourous views of relationships and life. Great fun.
This was an extraordinary show. Full Cuban band. Eight voice Cuban choir. Feature solo vocalists. The band and choir had the audience on their feet for multiple standing ovations. Embracing Voices received the 2009 Juno Award for Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year. The concert made it clear why the CD deserved the award. We were thrilled to be able to bring this show to Kamloops.
Canada's best traditional jazz guitar players blew the house away with two sets of superb musicianship and a warm connection with the audience. Bill Coon and Oliver Gannon were suported by Darren Radtke on bass and Dave Robbins on drums.
This was the second successful co-presentation between the award winning Cellar Live recording label and Entertainment Management. We have begun planning for more co-presentations.
This was a great evening. Association francophone de Kamloops presented Suroit from Quebec in a concert and dance which was alive with the energy of Winter Carnival. Bonhomme even made an appearance. The room was full. Half the people took in the optional dinner prior to the show. Entertainment Management provided event management services and publicity to non-members of the association.
We were asked to include a dance floor because "there will be some people who like to dance". That was an understatement. The dance floor was busy from the first number. At one point Suroit had over 80% of the audience up dancing. The Acadian-based music was a hit with Francophones and Anglophones alike. Truly a great evening.
Gina Netherway and Sabrina Weeks sang love songs to a full house. Backed by Mo Jazz, Gina and Sabrina put on a wonderful relaxing evening for everyone.
Danu and their Irish dancer put on a super Christmas concert. As expected, the musicianship was outstanding and the singing of Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh was a highlight. The band ran into weather-related travel problems and after spending an extra 24 hours in the airport finally got back to Ireland just in time for Christmas.
This was a super concert; jazz at its best. The Kamloops Daily News included it in its list of Top 12 Shows for 2008. The audience was treated to a set of contemporary pop/jazz by vocalist Melody Diachun and her electric quintet and then to a set of traditional be-bob by Canada's best saxophone players, PJ Perry and Campbell Ryga. At various points in the evening the audience was blown away by solos from both sax men. Most of the supporting musicians are band leaders and are worthy frontmen in their own right. It was an evening of extraordinary jazz.
Association francophone de Kamloops and Entertainment Management partnered to present Jou Tou to a near full house. There was a nice cultural melange on-stage and also in the audience which included Association members and non-members who were attracted by the this unique group.
Chris Donnelly played a great solo piano concert to an appreciative audience. Although Chris is an experienced performer, he is early in his career as a recording and touring musician. Entertainment Management is happy to support Chris in this stage of his career by presenting him in concert and by providing booking services. We're going to hear more of Chris as his reputation grows.
Entertainment Management presented a wonderfully fun swing dance with Company B, a swing band from Vancouver. The three singers kept everyone entertained with their vocal harmonies in the style of the Andrews Sisters. During the band's intermissions, we played recorded waltz, tango, mambo and other music for the many ballroom dancers who joined us for the evening. Everyone had a great time.
Julie Michels & Kevin Barrett put on a super evening of singing and guitar playing in Kamloops. Along with their music, they gave the audience engaging stories, humour and sincere warmth. We continue to get favourable comments weeks later. Kevin and Julie are clients of Entertainment Management. We provided them with booking services and managed their Kamloops concert for them. Julie Michels & Kevin Barrett have already begun discussions about a western tour in 2009.
Entertainment Management presented the Alexis Baro Sextet to a full house at The Loft in Kamloops. This hot Cuban band plays jazz with a liberal dose of funk. There was no dance floor, but Baro and the band had the audience energized and on its feet dancing in place. We have received lots of good feedback on this show and are looking forward to working again with Baro when his new CD is released.
The Kamloops Jazz Society and Living Arts presented To Armstrong and Bach, a musical fusion of classical music and jazz. This musical treat was in support of Western Canada Theatre's production of The Satchmo Suite which stars the ghost of Louis Armstrong as he helps a fellow musician play Bach.
The first half of the show featured classical music performed by soprano Martha Guth and pianist Dimiter Terziev.
The second half of the concert swung with Louis Armstrong-style jazz performed by Leigh Smith (trumpet), Buddy Rogers (drums), Grant Porter (bass) and Dale Rasmussen (piano). Kamloops Jazz and all four of these terrific musicians are clients of Entertainment Management Associates. This portion of the concert was managed by Entertainment Management.
